Save the Date Cards - let your guests know how much you want them to be there on your wedding day!
Even though these aren't required, they're an easy, inexpensive, fun, and very thoughtful wedding idea. A couple of tips...
- Send them anywhere from 3 months to a year in advance. That's a good ballpark figure for timing.
- Whether you use save the date cards or magnets, include a little note card with them that includes names, phone numbers, or directions for lodging nearby. Include any special discounts you've arranged with a hotel for out of town guests.
- Consider including the address of your personal wedding website - that will help them to stay informed.
- Consider using a luggage tag as a save the date card if they live far away or if it's a destination wedding.
- Whether you send guests a fancy magnet or a simple printable card with a stamped monogram/logo, it's the idea behind it that counts - that you really want them to be there with you on your wedding day.
